The APPG works closely with the Send My Friend to School Campaign, a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.
It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all.
Each year around 5,000 schools and 500,000 young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices with others across the world to create positive change.
In 2017, the campaign was focused on the global financing gap as the missing piece of the puzzle for achieving education for all. The APPG worked with Send My Friend on it’s week of action in Parliament and a panel event with our Chair, Stephen Twigg, Chair of GPE Julia Gillard and two Send My Friend campaign champions.
